Beautiful long legged birds, and they pack a hidden weapon too. There is a yellow spur hidden at the wing elbow, and they swoop down low on other animals intruding their territory during breeding season.
I saw some some big squirrel-like animal moving about in the trees, so I waited for it to come out clearer. As soon as I pointed my lens to its direction, it froze, so I got quite a few easy pictures. It kept sitting still while I chatted with a passer by who became curious with me and my camera. Later I talked to my relative about this and he said "yes it was playing possum!"
I was busy shooting a rosella towards my right and a kookaburra to the left. Suddenly this bird dropped down from somewhere and it ticked me off thinking this was just another crow trying to check what all these fuss about. I clicked a few burst towards it anyway since this would still count as a "far-away crow" with me being a tourist. Turned out this is a Grey Currawong, and a currawong is not a crow!
